I have spent eleven years making photographs. For most of that time they lived on screens. On listings, in feeds, on the backs of phones. Seen for a second, then gone.
When I moved to the Pacific Northwest I started chasing a quieter kind of light. But a picture on a screen is a strange thing. It arrives and it evaporates. You never get to hold it.
The Quiet Light Club is my attempt to build that room. Each month is one place. What arrives is a printed photograph and the story of the light behind it, sealed in an envelope, sent to your door.
There is nothing to scroll and no feed to keep up with. It simply comes to you, once a month, and asks you to slow down long enough to notice.

When does my first print arrive?
Join by August 15 and Edition No. 02 mails August 20. After that, each edition mails on the 20th of the month, and most arrive within a week.
What exactly shows up?
A 5 × 7 photograph printed on quality paper stock and a short letter about the light behind it, sealed in a stiff, stay-flat envelope.
Where do you ship?
Anywhere. US memberships are $15 a month with shipping included; international memberships are $18 a month — the difference is postage.
Can I gift a membership?
Yes — enter their address at checkout and the envelope goes to them. Add a note to your order and I’ll fold it into their first letter.
Will I be charged automatically?
Yes. Your first payment reserves the upcoming edition, and membership renews automatically on the 5th of each month until canceled.
How do I cancel?
Anytime, no hoops. Use the link in any receipt, or just reply to one of my emails and I’ll take care of it the same day.
What if it arrives damaged?
It ships protected, but mail is mail. Send me a photo and a replacement goes out at no charge.
Can I write you a letter back?
Yes, please do. Letters find me at PO Box 9085, Seattle, WA 98109. I read everything that arrives.
