Hi friend,
Everywhere I look, something real is being replaced by something that only looks real. You open a magazine now and where the photo credit used to be, there’s credit for an AI prompt.
Here’s the thing about a vantage point. You only get one if you stop moving. You have to pause long enough to actually look. When you finally pause, you start noticing what still matters.
The photograph in this envelope is one of those pauses. Soft light, real weather, a real sunset where I stood in one place longer than was comfortable. Nobody generated it. Now it’s here, in your hands.
That’s what this club has become. It started as me mailing a photograph. It’s turning into a small group of people, in cities I’ve never been to, who all opened the same envelope this week and slowed down for a minute. Every month there are a few more of you. Every month the map gets a little bigger.

Questions, answered
When does my first print arrive?
Join by October 15 and Edition No. 04 mails October 20. After that, each edition mails on the 20th of the month. Most US addresses have it within a week; international takes longer.
What exactly shows up?
A 5 × 7 photograph printed on quality paper stock and a short letter about the light behind it, sealed in a stiff, stay-flat envelope.
Do I get to choose the photograph?
No, and that’s half the point. Each month is one place I went and the single frame that earned the envelope. You find out what it is when you open it.
Where do you ship?
Anywhere. US memberships are $15 a month with shipping included; international memberships are $18 a month. The difference is postage.
How long does international shipping take?
Two to four weeks, depending on how fast your local post moves. It leaves Seattle on the 20th with every other edition, and the rest is up to your postal service.
Can I gift a membership?
Yes. Gifts run three, six, or twelve months, paid once, with nothing recurring. Enter their address and a note at checkout and I’ll fold it into their first letter. See the options.
Will I be charged automatically?
Yes. Your first payment reserves the upcoming edition, and membership renews automatically on the 5th of each month until canceled.
How do I cancel?
Anytime, no hoops. Use the link in any receipt, or just reply to one of my emails and I’ll take care of it the same day.
What if it arrives damaged?
It ships protected, but mail is mail. Send me a photo and a replacement goes out at no charge.
Can I write you a letter back?
